Our Mission

Bishop John A. Bridges & First Lady Minnie R. Bridges

Bishop John Andrew Bridges was born to the late Bishop Norman Lee and Mother Theresa Bridges in Washington, D.C.

Bishop Norman Lee Bridges pastored Triumph Way of the Cross Church of Christ located at 111 Harvard Street in Dorchester, MA, where Elder Bridges served as Minister of Music.  At an Easter Sunrise Service, he met the late MaryAnn Morris (whom he affectionately referred to as his "Georgia Peach") and married on August 23, 1964.

At the age of twenty, Elder Bridges received the call of God to preach the Gospel and began preparation for an ordained ministry under the doctrine of the Way of the Cross Church of Christ.  Eventually, Elder Bridges was called to preside over his father's church and renamed he ministry The Miracle Tabernacle Way of the Cross Church.

In 1992, God transitioned Elder Bridges' ministry to partner with the late Bishop Joe L. Smith. Elder Bridges and The Miracle Tabernacle Church family joined forces with The Holy Tabernacle Church of God in Christ Apostolic Inc (HTC). To further his passion for the Word of God, he attended the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary where he received a degree in Theology.

After 18 years of dedicated service, Elder Bridges heard the call of God to transition yet again.  On January 14, 2001, Elder Bridges open the door of New Fellowship Christian Ministries (NFCM).

On September 19, 2010, God called home the late MaryAnn Morris Bridges.

After the passing of his beloved MaryAnn, Pastor Bridges was in deep pain.  He poured out his heart, with all the hurt and grief to his heavenly Father.  After several months of praying and seeking the Lord, God showed Pastor John A. Bridges a vision of a face (of Elder Minnie James, at the time) within a black and white image.  Pastor Bridges then reached out to Minnie to let her know the vision God has given him and they began to communicate.  Pastor Bridges requested a couple of pictures from Minnie.  To his surprise, one of the pictures he received was that of the picture he saw in his vision that God had showed him.  This was their confirmation that God has chosen Minnie to be his help mate for him to continue his work in the ministry.  Elder Minnie James and Pastor John Bridges joined in holy matrimony on February 18, 2012.  The Bridges family has grown to seven beautiful children, eight wonderful grandchildren and one awesome great granddaughter.

Minnie James Bridges lived in Atlanta, Georgia for many years and has been in the ministry for thirty-eight years.  First Lady was trained and graduated in 2000 as an Evangelist and Missionary during her time at COGIC.  During her service, she earned an Associate's Degree at the Compassion Bible Institute in Atlanta, Georgia as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  She also attended the University of Maryland and the City of Chicago College.

Today the Lord is continuously adding to this part of the body of Christ so many can be saved.  New Fellowship Christian Ministries provides spirit driven teachings that are rooted from the entire love chapter, specifically 1 Corinthians 13:13.
